This architecture, known as Stalinist architecture, dominates Russian cities because it was the preferred style during the rule of Joseph Stalin in the mid-20th century. The imposing and grandiose style was meant to convey power, strength, and authority, reflecting the ideals of the Soviet regime. Additionally, the architecture was used to create a sense of unity and conformity, as it was meant to symbolize the collective strength of the Soviet state. As a result, many government buildings, residential complexes, and public spaces were constructed in this style, leading to its dominance in Russian cities. **
