The United Kingdom is still technically united, as it consists of four constituent countries: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. However, there have been growing tensions and calls for independence in Scotland and Northern Ireland in recent years. The Brexit vote also highlighted divisions within the UK, with Scotland and Northern Ireland voting to remain in the EU while England and Wales voted to leave. The issue of unity within the UK remains a topic of debate and concern. **

Yes, the handbrake was used. **

To determine if the handbrake is frozen, you can try pulling it up gently to see if it moves freely. If the handbrake feels stiff or is difficult to engage or disengage, it may be frozen. Another sign of a frozen handbrake is if the vehicle does not move when the handbrake is released. In such cases, it is best to seek professional help to thaw and repair the frozen handbrake to ensure safe operation of the vehicle. **

Slavery in the United States dates back to the early 17th century when the first African slaves were brought to the Virginia colony in 1619. Over the next few centuries, millions of Africans were forcibly brought to the United States and sold into slavery, primarily in the southern states, to work on plantations and in other industries. Slavery was a central institution in the American economy and society until the Civil War, when it became a major point of contention between the northern and southern states. The Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 and the 13th Amendment to the Constitution in 1865 officially abolished slavery in the United States. However, the legacy of slavery continues to impact American society and culture to this day. **
